De Blasio: “Don’t count your chickens before they hatch. Yesterday 2,637 confirmed cases. 202 lost lives yesterday. Looking at these compared to two weeks ago is good, but if I had given you these numbers it is staggering.”
“Biggest reality is that this will be a fight. We have to be cognizant. We must understand our enemy. Discipline is the way back. Daily number admitted to hospitals. On the 31st of March was 850. If we open the door just a little bit on this disease it will climb right back up. Thousands of new positives each day, all of which could be spreading the disease.”
Number of people in public hospitals in the ICU unit:
Mid April was 887. Today at 704. The city wide is very helpful.
We want low level transition. You can’t go to gathering. Don’t participate, call 311.
“We want to see the numbers come down. Staffing to trace every case. Every thing needs to move rapidly. Key are testing in every community, staffing to trace every case, immediate assessment, isolation and support at home hospital.”
